Data continues to show a persistent achievement gap between black and white students. The time is now to utilize the data, explore the sources of these discrepancies, and put into place measurable, sustainable ways to better support students of color. Transformation requires all hands on deck. All of you are doing truly important and powerful work to support children but there is still work to be done.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Joy DeGruy, will present on historical racism and trauma and how they have perpetuated disparities in the black community. Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on Oregon’s African American/Black Student Success Plan with leaders in education and philanthropy.
