Tim Wise Leading Anti-racist Essayist, Author and Educator, to Speak

The City of Eugene, University of Oregon, Lane County and Eugene Water and Electric Board are collaborating to bring prominent international lecturer Tim Wise to the UO campus on Oct. 15. Wise will be speaking in Straub Hall on race and class inequity in America. Wise is among the most prominent anti-racist writers and educators in the United States. Named one of “25 Visionaries Who are Changing Your World,” by Utne Reader, Wise has spoken in all 50 states, on over 800 college and high school campuses, and to community groups across the nation. He has authored six books and contributed essays to 25 books. More information on Wise can be found on his website or at speakout.org The community organizations are working together in an effort to create open dialogue about race and inequity in American culture today.
