Tsunami Bookstore Pledge Campaign!
August 31, 2017 @ 8:00 am - December 31, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
This is to announce that Tsunami is officially collecting funds for our Tsunami Books Pledge Campaign.
In the first 48 hours they have collected well over $20,000.
MDL has also agreed to lower the funds that are needed in an dedicated escrow account (for rent) from $400,000. to $300,000;
or, if possible, in other creative ways.
In any case, Tsunami Books will be here at 2585 Willamette through the holiday season.
All your funds will be deposited into a recently created Money Market Account at Oregon Community Credit Union until such time
that a (5 Year plus a single 5 year Option) Lease is finalized. If no lease is signed by January 31, 2118, all funds will be returned to you.
1) It is our intention to collect all further funds in the form of check, credit card in person at the store, cash, or money order.
2) Please read the enclosed Pledge Agreement, which describes the various ways your money will be viewed. It is important
for you to understand that your money is not a tax-deductible donation. It is either a loan, a gift to an individual (Scott Landfield, who will contribute it to the Money Market, and eventually Escrow account); or, if you are a business, it can be expensed-out as public relations/publicity (please speak with Scott about creative business options). At the bottom of the second page, please indicate how you want your money to be considered; sign it and include a permanent address for our bookkeeping. Email is also appreciated.
3) As we process the payments we will mail you a copy of your Pledge Agreement and/or a receipt, along with cards for “merch”
if you have indicated you would like any of the options we offer in our initial Signing Statement, redeemable beginning the first
day of our New Lease, should it occur.
4) It is best to refer any questions to Scott Landfield, either at the store or through email– . We are creating
a unique community process here, and our Tsunami Books store clerks are more involved in helping you with your book needs.
thank you very much,
Scott Landfield, President and General Manager,
