The Murder of Michael Brown

The Grand Jury did not indict officer Darren Wilson for the murder of Michael Brown in Ferguson MO and this brings us great sadness because now there will be no trial, no examination of the evidence, no transparency, and no justice for his family.  We have been let down by a system we hold up as a symbol of liberty and freedom to the rest of the world.  A system that continues to exhibit the signs of imbalance when it comes to its people of color.
We stand with the Brown family as they continue to pursue civil actions in this case. With your help, and that of the  NAACP National Organization,  we may still find some measure of justice.
Please help, by signing this petition to the Department of Justice.

VIGIL TODAY!!!!

Tuesday 11/25, at 5:00 pm TODAY!!!

Free Speech Plaza (corner of 8th and Oak St.)

Please join members of the NAACP, as well as many other local social justice groups, at a vigil today organized by The Community Alliance of Lane County (CALC).

This vigil will be held to show our support for the family of Michael Brown.   As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday let us not forget that without justice there is very little to be thankful for. This is a time for allies, friends, families to come together in solidarity to continue and renew the pursuit of balance and justice.
