HIV Alliance is committed to advocating for those living with HIV, and raising awareness around issues of stigma. Many groups of people are overrepresented in HIV/AIDS statistics, and much of this can be tied to forms of discrimination and stigma. Our education program provides a wide range of informational sessions to adults and youth alike because misconceptions of HIV and who is at-risk are so widespread. The complexities of HIV are too often simplified and we feel this is unfair – people should be educated on how to keep themselves and their community healthy.
