A love supreme-A look at the Black Experience. A presentation and community forum with local NAACP president Eric Richardson

Local NAACP president Eric Richardson will bring his 4 years experience with the local branch of the NAACP, and his insight and love of Black history to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Eugene, on September 23rd. Richardson hopes to investigate the lived truth of African peoples both here and worldwide through an examination of the slave trade and it’s lasting effects on society today.The presentation will be followed by a forum in which groups of participants formulate questions for the presenter. September 23rd is also the 90th birthday of John Coltrane who according to Richardson is one the “literary” giants of the 20th century. Richardson will also read an excerpt of the poem “Psalms” from Coltrane’s work A love Supreme

A light meal will be served from 5:30- 6:30 pm
