ANNE ANDERSON on District of Columbia Voting Status REDISTRICTING REFORM-League of Women Voters- D.C Statehood effort!

November 16, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

In support of President Obama and Eric Holders efforts to highlight the need for reform in the redistricting process the Eugene/Springfield NAACP is happy to host the League of Women Voters of Lane County  at the Mims House on Friday morning, Nov. 16 as they they welcome Anne Anderson of Washington, D.C.,  to Eugene. Anna will present information on the National League efforts to achieve full rights for DC citizens. A PowerPoint, presentation with followup question can be expected. A great opportunity to hear about an important effort and check out the Historic Mims House, at the same time!

The League supports redistricting re- form that would take the process of re- districting out of the hands of legislators and put it into the hands of voters to create fair and representative districts. We believe that voters should choose their representatives, not representatives choosing their voters. This reform would require an amendment to the Oregon Constitution to create an independent redistricting commission.

RSVP to the League office: 541-343-7917 Space is limited to the first 25 people
