President Eric Richardson interviews local leaders in a one on one setting!
On September 25 The Community Spotlight celebrates its 1-year anniversary at as a monthly evening program at tsunami Books. CCE president Eric Richardson conducts a one-on-one interview with a community leader. September’s guest is District 2 County Commissioner Joe Berney. Joe’s career has spanned four decades of entrepreneurship and leadership in business, economic development, education, and training. Most recently he built a business developing and financing commercial and industrial energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage retrofits, thereby creating new markets for the building trades. Projects included the nation’s largest PACE-financed commercial energy efficiency retrofit, and the nation’s largest Net Zero Plus facility with and for IBEW 11 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and Los Angeles NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association). Other confirmed Community Spotlight interviewees for the coming year include Eugene councilor Greg Evans, Oregon Representative Cedric Hayden, well known activist for human rights and community peace Ibrahim Hamide, and Rabbi Sophia Motzkin Rubenstein of Temple Beth Israel. The programs are usually the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6 pm., with the exception of November and December.
